On February 9th, ACAP-Hickory is offering a program for adult-child caregivers of aging parents and other family caregivers titled “Caregiving is Wearing Me Out!” The speaker will be Dr. Adina Gabor-Gagea, Psy.D., Psychologist with Broughton Hospital and Brian Hissom & Associates. The program will be held on February 9th from 5:30pm – 7:00p, at Patrick Beaver Library in Hickory. This program is sponsored by Brian Hissom & Associates and BAYADA Home Health Care. In addition, Rock Barn Spa has donated door prizes for two lucky participants.
The program will help adult-child and other family caregivers: 1) recognize and understand signs and symptoms of compassion fatigue, and 2) develop strategies for balancing caregiving responsibilities with caring for their own needs.
Advance registration is not required, but is strongly encouraged. For more information, or to register, please contact Frances Hall at fhall@ACAPcommunity.org or call toll-free 1-877-599-ACAP (1-877-599-2227).
