HICKORY — Adult Children of Aging Parents Hickory will present, “Is It Normal Aging, or Is It Alzheimer’s?” on July 8.
The July program is scheduled for the Patrick Beaver Library in Hickory, 5:30 to 7 p.m., a change in ACAP’s typical site for this program only. While ACAP is designed for adult-child caregivers, the educational programs are open to all who wish to attend and are free to attendees. The July program is the first part of a two-part series dealing with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. The second part is scheduled for October.

When memory loss disrupts daily life or when there is difficulty solving typical problems, performing routine tasks, confusion with time or place, struggles with finding the right word, withdrawal from social situations, or changes in personality, often there is a concern about whether these are signs of normal aging, or if they are symptoms of Alzheimer’s or a related dementia.
