HICKORY, N.C. — Adult Children of Aging Parents presents “Home for the Holidays” on Tuesday, Oct. 22, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, 2780 N. Center St., Hickory .
Focusing on the upcoming holidays and family gatherings, the program will offer insights regarding holiday visits with aging parents and ways to reduce caregiver stress, an all-too-often “companion” of the season. “Home for the Holidays” will include “Mom & Dad Aren’t OK … Now What?”, presented by Meghan Lawton, program and development manager, Alzheimer’s Association, Foothills Area ; and “Easing Caregiver Holiday Stress, ” by Mary Mitchell, family caregiver support specialist, Area Agency on Aging, Western Piedmont Council of Governments.
