ACAPcommunity Board of Directors is pleased to welcome ACAP Statesville, our newest chapter!

What happens when dedicated professionals and community leaders ―people who understand the joys and challenges adult-children experience each day in caring for their aging parents ―become passionate about providing meaningful support for front-line family caregivers? Well, if you’re in Statesville, NC, you start ACAP Statesville!

ACAP Statesville will present its first program for the Statesville area on Tuesday, September 17, 5:30-7;00 pm, at South River Baptist Church, Family Life Center (2659 S. Chipley Ford Road, Statesville).  Anna Rice, Executive Director, Iredell County Council on Aging, will present “Understanding, Choosing & Using Statesville Area Resources,” helping attendees:

  • Learn the key areas to focus on as you help a senior through the aging process,
  • Understand resources available to older adults and families within the Statesville area,
  • Find creative ways to keep older adults engaged, promoting good health.

To register for the FREE program: Email ACAPStatesville@gmail.com or call 704-380-0840.  Although pre-registration is not required, it is helpful for planning purposes.  Light refreshments will be available for attendees.

Although designed for adult-children of aging parents, ACAP programs are open to all.

As with ACAP’s other local chapters – ACAP Hickory (NC), ACAP Centre County (PA), and ACAP Winston-Salem (NC), ACAP Statesville will provide information, resources, support and community for adult-children as they care for their aging parents and for themselves.  ACAP Statesville will offer educational programs on the 3rd Tuesday of each month, 5:30-7:00 pm, at South River Baptist Church, Family Life Center.  Programs will address a wide range of issues typically experienced by adult-child caregivers, and area content experts will provide evidence-based information regarding the topic.  Thanks to the support of sponsors, all ACAP programs are FREE.
