This program will help adult children understand the concept of aging in place, assess their parents’ homes for safety and accessibility concerns, and become familiar with potential home remodeling and modifications that can help make their parents’ dreams reality.

Staying Put: Aging In Place

This program will help adult children discuss with their parents the advantages and disadvantages of aging in place. Attendees will learn how to assess homes for potential safety and accessibility concerns and, if appropriate, identify potential home remodeling and modifications that can help their parents age in place.

PROGRAM PRESENTERS:  Linda Garboczi and Crystal Norman

Linda Garboczi is a gerontologist with a passion for neuroscience and the aging brain. She is the program Coordinator for Elder Care Choices, an evidence-based employee benefit that provides information, referral, and confidential care consultation services for working caregivers and their families.

Crystal Norman is currently serving as a Long-Term Care Ombudsman at the Piedmont Triad Regional Council Area Agency on Aging where she provides advocacy and mediation for residents of skilled nursing, assisted living, and family care home facilities.
