Medicaid 101: Know if you Qualify (Join us for pizza!)

Participants will gain knowledge regarding Medicaid eligibility requirements and services. They will learn: (1) how to access federal Medicaid websites to complete eligibility paperwork and download the current year's Medicaid manual; (2) how to access city, county, or state websites and phone numbers to complete Medicaid eligibility paperwork; and (3) how to determine health and medical professionals accepting coverage and seek answers to questions.

Presenters: Alex DeLuca, Esq. and Alexis Wetzler, Long Term Care Planner

Alex DeLuca, Esq. joined Steinbacher, Goodall, and Yurchak in 2023 as an associate attorney in the State College office. His focus is estate and long term care planning. Alex graduated from Saint Vincent College  with a bachelor of science degree in management before attending law school and obtaining his law degree.
Alexis Wetzler is a Long Term Care Planner who works out of the State College office of Steinbacher, Goodall and Yurchak. She started at the firm as a social work intern before accepting a full time job with the firm. Upon graduation from Bloomsburg University, where she double majored in social work and psychology with a minor in gerontology, she accepted the position as Long-Term Care Planner.

 

Program

This program will help adult children understand Medicaid and the benefits it may offer their aging parents, so they can be informed advocates for their aging parents’ health and medical care and service coverage. Participants will learn about Medicaid eligibility requirements and services, including the purpose and service coverage.
