Is It Just Forgetfulness? Recognizing Alzheimer’s and Dementia Before It’s Too Late

Has your parent repeated the same story three times in one conversation? Forgotten a familiar name or missed an appointment they never would have missed before? Many families wonder - is this normal aging, or something more? Knowing the difference could change everything. Join us for an eye-opening evening as our expert speaker helps adult children understand the real signs of Alzheimer's disease and other dementias — what to look for, how a diagnosis happens, and what the stages of progression mean for your family.  You'll also learn about today's treatment options, caregiving support, and the latest research, giving families reason for hope. Whether your parent has already received a diagnosis or you simply want to be prepared, this program will give you the knowledge and the confidence to take the right next steps — for your parent, and for yourself. This program is free and open to all.  Bring a sibling, a friend, or anyone else navigating this journey with you. Sponsor

Who We Are

Welcome to ACAP Forsyth-North Fulton, whose core mission is to provide information, resources, support, and a sense of community for adult children who are caring for their aging parents, while also encouraging these caregivers to prioritize their own well-being. Our chapter is explicitly designed to assist families in caring for older adult loved ones and to provide essential support for caregivers.

A core component of ACAP Forsyth-North Fulton's offerings is its educational programs, which are based on a nationally validated curriculum. These programs are delivered through various channels, including monthly programs, audio podcasts, videos, annual conference, and "Lunch & Learns" such as the "First Fridays with ACAP" series.

Each month, ACAP Forsyth-North Fulton will host a FREE educational program that will provide subject matter experts on subjects related to the aging process and caregiving. We cover topics like local healthcare resources, legal matters for seniors, and financial planning for you and your aging parents.

We invite you to join us for free monthly ACAP programs that address topics common to most caregivers for aging adults. We will provide light refreshments and an opportunity to learn about local resources and experts who serve the senior population of Forsyth and North Fulton.
