The fee to begin an ACAP chapter is $5,000. The first $3,000 provides the Leadership Team with access to ACAPcommunity’s intellectual property, including the Leadership Team training, Chapter Guide, Curriculum, and ongoing coaching. The remaining $2,000 covers the chapter’s Start-Up Kit, including various collaterals and the development of the chapter’s web page, email account, and social media sites.

Beginning with the chapter’s launch (the first month the chapter offers ACAP programs), the new chapter joins other chapters and ACAPcommunity in sharing costs for digital marketing, approximately $3,000 each year.

Beginning with the chapter’s first anniversary, an annual $3,000 Chapter Renewal Fee is due to ACAPcommunity in order to continue as an ACAP chapter.

Additional Fundraising Possibilities

Photo shoot

A meaningful fundraiser is to schedule a photo shoot for adult children with their aging parents or even families and their older adult loved ones.

  • Engage a professional photographer who can stage participants and have proper lighting
  • Conduct the photo shoot in a convenient location that is suitable for older adults with mobility issues, and make sure there are restrooms nearby
  • Be sure to use the photo release form
  • Provide digital photos for families
  • Share best photos with ACAPcommunity for possibility of use

Mini-retreat

In addition to your monthly program, you could schedule a mini-retreat or program on yoga, relaxation, meditation, art, music, etc. to provide tools to combat caregiver stress.

Foundation grants within your chapter footprint

Some larger corporations have foundation offices in your chapter area with funding allocated for local philanthropy. Prior to beginning the grant proposal process, though, chapters must receive authorization from ACAPcommunity to ensure there is no overlap with ACAPcommunity fundraising projects.
