Ann Hiatt, Ph.D

Dr. Hiatt is the facilitator of the weekly caregiver support groups sponsored by Forsyth County Senior Services that were held at the Williams Adult Day Center but now are virtual due to COVID-19.

She co-leads Powerful Tools for Caregivers sponsored by the Piedmont Triad Area Agency on Aging, coordinated by The Shepherd’s Center, Winston Salem, NC. In addition, she is the founder of CAREGIVERS WELLBEING, a non-profit organization, dedicated to helping unpaid caregivers who are caring for a loved one with a chronic condition, especially dementia.

Dr. Hiatt is the author of Detour Down Desperation Road, a collection of short stories about her journey with her mother with excerpts from other caregivers’ dilemmas and challenges.
